The Terriers 12U Softball team celebrated Mother's Day with a bang, by winning the Gold Bracket at the Streetsboro/Rootstown May Mayhem Tournament. The girls started the weekend slow, losing their first pool play game, but then put the foot on the gas and never looked back, winning the next 5 games straight to take home the championship!
Once again this team proved that everyone plays a part and as a squad they posted a .429 batting average on the weekend.
Excited to announce that the 12u team was victorious at the Wildcat Classic USA Eastern National Qualifier tournament this weekend. Games were moved inside to "The Dirt" due to weather and the schedule was a bit hectic for pool play, with our last game Saturday night starting at 9:30 PM.
The girls went 6-0 on the weekend outscoring our opponents 60-12. The team batting average was .471 and we made very few errors defensively 90% fielding percentage. The pitching staff gave up 5 earned runs with 4 walks and 40 combined strikeouts. The catchers were shooting ducks on the pond with 4 girls caught stealing and 2 pick offs.
Great all around team effort.
Since the 12u team has already won a bid to the USA Eastern Nationals, we gave up this bid to the runner ups, the West Virginia Stingrays, who played their hearts out in that championship game. We wish them the best of luck on the remainder of their season!
