The Stark County Terriers stayed in it until the end, but Ohio Elite pulled away late in a 5-1 victory on Sunday. The game was tied at one with Ohio Elite batting in the top of the sixth when Andrew Micale singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Stark County evened things up at one in the bottom of the fourth inning when Davis Burick hit a solo homer.
Jacob Visha led the Ohio Elite to victory on the hill. The fireballer surrendered one run on two hits over three and a third innings, striking out four. Zach King threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Cooper Davies took the loss for the Terriers. Davies allowed six hits and four runs over two innings, walking one.
Drew Hallgren started the game for Stark County. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out five Matthew Aukerman started the game for Ohio Elite. The bulldog lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero.
The Terriers hit one home run on the day. Burick had a long ball in the fourth inning.
Burick, Breydan Cavey, Ben Lefebvre, Lane Marshall, and Matthew McGrath each collected one hit to lead the Terriers.
Micale went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ohio Elite in hits. Ohio Elite didn't commit a single error in the field. Bradley Goodyear had ten chances in the field, the most on the team.
