BHM Buckeyes Capture Lead Early To Defeat College Terriers

The Stark County Terriers watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-5 loss to the BHM Buckeyes on Wednesday. The Buckeyes scored on a single by Sebastian Matlock, a triple by Torrey Roper, and a single by Johnathan Cook in the first inning.


The Buckeyes opened up scoring in the first inning, when Matlock singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.


They scored five runs in the sixth inning. Their big bats were led by Roper, Jaylon Sanders and Jimmy Taddeo, all driving in runs in the frame.


Matt Brown led the BHM Buckeyes to victory on the hill. The bulldog lasted four and a third innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out six. Justin Beachler threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.


Ben Mohler took the loss for Stark County. The righty allowed four hits and four runs over four innings, striking out five.


Braden Broom led the Terriers with two hits in four at bats.


The Buckeyes saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Cook and Roper each had multiple hits for the Buckeyes.
