College Terriers Lose Despite Out Hitting Release Baseball in WRCL Contest

Even though Stark County Terriers 18O collected eight hits to Release Baseball WRCL's five, they still fell 8-6 on Tuesday at Baldwin Wallace University. Caleb Collins and Mason Stoldt each collected two hits for Stark County Terriers 18O.


Release Baseball WRCL got on the board in the first inning after Michael Ciavolella doubled, scoring two runs.


Stark County Terriers 18O made the score 3-2 in the top of the fifth after Braden Broom grounded out, scoring one run, and Stoldt singled, scoring two runs.


Release Baseball WRCL captured the lead, 8-5, in the bottom of the sixth after L.A. Mighton hit into a fielder's choice, Justin Bremner walked, Dominic Brancel walked, Ryan DiLullo hit a sacrifice fly, Lucas Brandt walked, and Will Heisler singled, each scoring one run.


Collin Lange earned the win for Release Baseball WRCL. The reliever surrendered six hits and six runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking six. Logan Poole took the loss for Stark County Terriers 18O. The reliever went one and one-third innings, surrendering three runs on two hits, striking out none and walking one. Christian Harris started on the mound for Stark County Terriers 18O. The left-handed pitcher gave up two hits and two runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking three. Owen Cavey stepped on the mound first for Release Baseball WRCL. They allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out three and walking none.


Stoldt went 2-for-3 at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the team with two runs batted in. Benjamin Hymes and Collins each stole multiple bases for Stark County Terriers 18O. Stark County Terriers 18O had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Stark County Terriers 18O ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game. Stark County Terriers 18O didn't commit a single error in the field. Nathan Grega had the most chances in the field with seven.


Ciavolella provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Release Baseball WRCL with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Heisler went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Release Baseball WRCL in hits. Bremner led Release Baseball WRCL with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game.


Stark County Terriers 18O will travel to Release Baseball WRCL for their next game on Tuesday.
