Stark County Terriers 18O took Thursday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 1-0 walk-off victory over Avalanche Baseball at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium. The game was tied at zero in the bottom of the seventh when Parker Varney hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Stark County Terriers 18O pitchers struck out 14, while Avalanche Baseball sat down six.
Brennan McCune earned the win for Stark County Terriers 18O. They surrendered two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 14 and walking none. Richie Preston took the loss for Avalanche Baseball. The starting pitcher went six and two-thirds innings, surrendering one run on five hits, striking out six and walking two.
Nolan Kellicker, Varney, Alex Laird, Benjamin Hymes, and Luke Senften each collected one hit for Stark County Terriers 18O. Varney went 1-for-1 at the plate as the infielder led the team with one run batted in. Stark County Terriers 18O didn't commit a single error in the field. Nathan Grega had the most chances in the field with 14.
Dante Donatelli and Nicolas Lewis each collected one hit for Avalanche Baseball. Avalanche Baseball didn't commit a single error in the field. Lewis had the most chances in the field with six.
Stark County Terriers 18O will travel to B2 Bulls for their next game on Sunday.
