A walk-off left the Stark County Terriers on the wrong end of a 7-6 defeat to the B2 Bulls on Sunday. The game was tied at six with the Bulls batting in the bottom of the seventh when Noah Brazytis singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
The Terriers collected nine hits and the Bulls had 11 in the high-scoring affair.
B2 got things moving in the second inning, when Michael Persichetti singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
In the top of the sixth inning, the Terriers tied things up at six. An error scored one run for Stark County.
The Terriers put up three runs in the third inning. They scored their runs on a single by Lane Marshall.
Daniel Thomas pitched the B2 Bulls to victory. The ace went three and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out seven and walking one.
Kyle Aten took the loss for Stark County. The pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out seven.
Drew Hallgren started the game for the Terriers. Hallgren surrendered five runs on six hits over three innings, striking out four. Blake Barker started the game for the Bulls. Barker surrendered five runs on six hits over three and a third innings, striking out six.
Stark County tallied nine hits on the day. Marshall, Ben Lefebvre, and Evan Swan each racked up multiple hits. They each collected two hits to lead the team.
The Bulls saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Persichetti, Barker, Brazytis, and Joey Trivisonno all collected multiple hits for B2 Bulls. Persichetti led with three hits in four at bats.
