The Stark County Terriers beat the Grand Rapids Brewers, 9-5, on Sunday to win the 2022 NABF World Series Championship!
The Terriers got things started in the first inning when Davis Burick singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Bueford took the win for Stark County. The pitcher surrendered one run on two hits over three and a third innings, striking out five and walking zero. A number of pitchers entered the game in relief, with Ben Mohler, Christian Harris, Jordan Shearer, and Spencer Atkins all securing outs and ultimately the victory. Atkins recorded the last two outs to earn the save.
Jeremy Marble took the loss for Grand Rapids. Marble lasted five innings, allowing ten hits and seven runs while striking out three.
Stark County hit one home run on the day. Andrew Micole had a long ball in the fifth inning.
The Terriers scattered 16 hits in the game. Micole, Cole Maley, Shea Simmer, Ben Lefebvre, John Philippi, Breydan Cavey, and Burick each had multiple hits. Micole went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
Stark County didn't commit a single error in the field. Maley had 14 chances, the most on the team.
The Brewers tallied eight hits in the game. Jared Budjos and Jackson Kitchen all had multiple hits. Budjos led Grand Rapids with three hits in three at bats.
