The Stark County Terriers’ effort to come back from down four runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 5-4 to Bay Boaters on Saturday. They scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Davis Burick in the fifth and a single by Jack Mathey in the seventh.
Stark County fell behind early in the loss. The Bay Boaters took the lead on a single in the first inning.
The Boaters got things moving in the first inning, when Clint Finnen singled on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs.
Trevor Jurski took the win for th Bay Boaters. Jurski allowed six hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out five.
Drew Hallgren took the loss for the Terriers. The righty surrendered five runs on two hits over three and a third innings, striking out four.
Burick led Stark County with three hits in four at bats. The Terriers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Cole Maley had the most chances in the field with 14.
Finnen went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Bay Boaters in hits.
