In the opening game of the Western Reserve Collegiate League Playoffs, the Stark County Terriers seized victory in dramatic fashion, thanks to a walk-off walk at the end of the game to topple the T3 Warhawks. The game was tied at three with the Terriers batting in the bottom of the twelfth when Josh Dezenzo drew a walk, scoring one run.
The Warhawks opened up scoring in the second inning. Mason Vance singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Stark County tied things up at three. They scored two runs when Benny Hymes singled. Dezenzo and Hymes all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Christian Harris was the winning pitcher for the Terriers. The pitcher went two innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out two and walking one. Drew Becker started the game for the Terriers. The pitcher went four and a third innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out eight. Jacob Rollyson threw five and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Aidan DeBolt took the loss for the T3 Warhawks. The bulldog went one inning, allowing one run on one hit and striking out one. Jake Becks started the game for the Warhawks. The hurler allowed eight hits and three runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one.
Stark County tallied ten hits in the game. Ty Williams, Hymes, and Braden Broom each collected multiple hits. Williams led with three hits in five at bats.
The Warhawks didn't commit a single error in the field. Christopher Bach had 14 chances in the field, the most on the team.
