Early Lead For Collegiate Terriers Sets Stage For Victory Over Dugout Baseball!

Stark County Terriers grabbed an early lead on its way to an 11-4 victory over Dugout Baseball on Sunday. They scored on a single by Evan Swan and an error in the second inning.


After Dugout Baseball scored two runs in the top of the sixth, the Terriers answered with two of their own. Dugout Baseball scored when Seth Freeman hit a solo homer and Logan Jones induced Derrick Johnson to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Stark County then answered when John Philippi singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and Matthew McGrath's sac fly scored one run for the Terriers.


Stark County pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. Swan singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs and an error scored one run for the Terriers.


Stark County scored four runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Swan and a double by Lane Marshall.


Jones was the winning pitcher for the Terriers. Jones allowed six hits and four runs over six innings, striking out five. Jordan Shearer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.


Brandon Ferdinando took the loss for Dugout Baseball. The bulldog surrendered six runs on four hits over two innings, striking out two.


Kristian Scalf started the game for Dugout Baseball. The hurler allowed three hits and five runs over four innings, striking out five.


Stark County had seven hits in the game. Philippi and Swan collected multiple hits for the Terriers. Philippi led with three hits in three at bats.


Dugout Baseball scattered six hits in the game. Bobby Helt and Freeman managed multiple hits for Dugout Baseball.
