The Stark County Terriers defeated Premier Ohio 2-0 on Saturday as four pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Cooper Davies induced a double-play from Ryan Stefancin to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Stark County pitchers struck out 13, while Premier Ohio pitchers sat down four.
A single by Zach Gaspar in the seventh inning was a positive for Premier Ohio.
Christian Harris took the win for the Terriers. The pitcher went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out five and walking one. Ben Mohler and Davies entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Jonathan Ambro took the loss for Premier Ohio. Ambro lasted four innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out four.
Kyle Aten started the game for Stark County. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking one.
Evan Swan went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Terriers in hits.
Premier Ohio was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Phillip Stauffer made the most plays with four.
