A walk-off left Stark County Terriers 18O on the wrong end of an 8-7 defeat to Premier Ohio on Sunday at Brunswick High School. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the seventh when Carter Kocik singled, scoring one run.
Kaiden Mastri drove in four runners in the loss. The left-handed hitter went 2-4 on the day.
Premier Ohio jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Zach Gaspar singled, scoring one run, Edward Ramos singled, scoring two runs, and Bryce Bogan doubled, scoring two runs.
Stark County Terriers 18O tied the game in the top of the seventh thanks to a walk by Kyle Benson, and a grand slam to center field by Mastri.
Ryan Gordon earned the win for Premier Ohio. The reliever surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one-third of an inning, striking out one and walking none. Garret Odey took the loss for Stark County Terriers 18O. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, surrendering one run (zero earned) on two hits, striking out two and walking three. Dylan Rouse led things off on the bump for Stark County Terriers 18O. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and five runs over two and one-third innings, striking out four and walking three. Jonathan Albers led things off on the bump for Premier Ohio. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking two.
Stark County Terriers 18O collected 10 hits in the game. Nolan Kellicker, Caleb Collins, Josh Dezenzo, and Mastri each collected two hits for Stark County Terriers 18O.
Premier Ohio collected 10 hits in the game. Ramos led Premier Ohio with two hits in four at bats. Premier Ohio had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Christian Beltran and Gaspar led the team with two free passes each. Premier Ohio turned one double play in the game. Premier Ohio didn't commit a single error in the field. Kocik had the most chances in the field with nine.
