Kaiden Mastri drove in five runs on one hit to lead Stark County Terriers 18O past Wayne Baseball Club 18O 8-3 on Wednesday at Walsh University. In the third inning, Mastri hit a grand slam to right field.
Wayne Baseball Club 18O got on the board in the top of the first inning after Stark County Terriers 18O committed an error, and Owen Walter hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Ty Dennison earned the win for Stark County Terriers 18O. The righty allowed four hits and two runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking four. #17 took the loss for Wayne Baseball Club 18O. The reliever went three innings, surrendering three runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking one. Ashton Snyder opened the game for Wayne Baseball Club 18O. The starter gave up one hit and one run over two innings, striking out none and walking one. Luke Jansen pitched two innings of shutout ball for Stark County Terriers 18O in relief. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit, striking out four and walking two.
John Toth, Kyle Benson, Nolan Kellicker, Caleb Collins, Ty Sowers, Daniel Krabill, and Mastri each collected one hit for Stark County Terriers 18O. Krabill stole two bases.
Walter and Logan Dichler were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Wayne Baseball Club 18O. Nick Tura went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead Wayne Baseball Club 18O in hits. Wayne Baseball Club 18O had a strong eye at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Yuri Bellina and Eric Krawl led the team with two walks each.
Stark County Terriers 18O will travel to T3 Warhawks for their next game on Sunday.
