Terriers Defeat Ohio Elite, 6-3

The Stark County Terriers were victorious over Ohio Elite, 6-3 on Tuesday night. They got things started in the first inning when Benny Hymes doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.


In the top of the second inning, Ohio Elite tied things up at one when Andrew Micale's sac fly scored one run.


The Terriers pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. Nathan Grega's sac fly scored one run for Stark County, Ty Sowers singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, and Parker Varney homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.


Connor Evanich was credited with the victory for the Terriers. Evanich surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out four. Brennan McCune threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.


Andrew Kirkpatrick took the loss for Ohio Elite. The hurler allowed eight hits and six runs over six innings, striking out two.


Hymes went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Stark County in hits.


Ohio Elite racked up seven hits. Christopher Franks and Ryan Shimek all managed multiple hits for Ohio Elite. Franks led Ohio Elite with four hits in four at bats.
