Terriers Fall To The B2 Bulls After Fifth Inning Score

The Stark County Terriers stayed in it until the end, but the B2 Bulls pulled away late in a 3-2 victory on Saturday in game 1 of a double header. The game was tied at two with the Bulls batting in the bottom of the fifth when Calvin Brown singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.


The pitching was strong on both sides. Bulls pitchers struck out 11, while the Terriers sat down nine.


Stark County captured the lead in the second inning when they scored one run on a Braden Broom single.


Patrick Dinnen pitched the Bulls to victory. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out nine. Ricardo Medrano and Ashton Wheelock entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.


Drew Becker took the loss for the Terriers. The pitcher surrendered three runs on six hits over five innings, striking out seven.


Ty Sowers, Ty Williams, Broom, Benny Hymes, Josh Dezenzo, and Aidan Grabowski each collected one hit to lead Stark County. The Terriers didn't commit a single error in the field. Nathan Grega had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.


The B2 Bulls tallied six hits on the day. Alex Gabauer and Brown each racked up multiple hits for B2 Bulls. They were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Dylan Gamber made the most plays with 12.
