Terriers Grab Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Lake Erie Warhawks

The Terriers Collegiate Team snagged a late lead and defeated Lake Erie Warhawks 7-4 on Sunday. The game was tied at four with Stark County batting in the top of the fifth when Jake Margroff drew a walk, scoring one run.


Corey White led the Terriers to victory by driving in four runs. He went 2-for-3 at the plate. White drove in runs on a double in the fourth and a single in the fifth.


The Warhawks got things moving in the first inning, when Lake Erie Warhawks scored one run on a stolen base.


After the Terriers scored one run in the top of the third, Lake Erie Warhawks answered with one of their own. The Terriers scored when Jordan Hite singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Lake Erie then answered when an error scored one run.


Andrew Prentice took the win for the Terriers. He allowed three hits and four runs over five innings, striking out two. Rylee Wallace threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.


Declan Ange took the loss for the Warhawks. He surrendered seven runs on eight hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one.


The Terriers racked up ten hits in the game. Hite, Zake Hawkins, and White each had multiple hits for Stark County. White, Hawkins, and Hite each managed two hits.


Lake Erie didn't commit a single error in the field. Matt Detering had the most chances in the field with 11.
