13U Are 2024 Memorial Day Madness Baseball Champs!

The Stark County Terriers 13U Travel Baseball Team won the 2024 Memorial Day Madness Tournament in the Akron/Canton area this past weekend.


The Terriers outscored their four opponents 48-17 in dominating fashion. The Dawgs opened up Pool Play with an impressive 11-1 win vs Premier Ohio 13U, followed by a 11-2 win against Young Bucks 13U. The 2-0 start with only 3 runs against earned the 13U Terriers the top overall seed in Bracket Play. After a top seed Bye, the Terriers then took it to Perry Gold 13U 12-2, earning a spot in the Championship Game. A rematch with Premier Ohio proved to be a game to remember. The Terriers jumped out to a 6-3 lead but found themselves down 11-6 late in the game. A spirited 6 run rally propelled the team to a 14-12 victory, and their first Tourney Championship of the 2024 Spring/Summer season. 



The 13U Terriers are led by Head Coach Jason Paone, joined by assistants Sean Waltz, Erin Kossack, George Nastoff, Gary Trbovich, and Nick Kirkbride, and has an overall record of 20-10 on the season. The team plays locally in the Stark Summit Baseball League and has competed in 4 tournaments to date with 4 remaining.
