14U Defeats Hurricanes In Blow Out Victory Thanks To Fourth Inning Boost

The Stark County Terriers 14U defeated the Hurricanes 10-1 on Sunday thanks to a timely eight runs in a big fourth inning to win the Silver Bracket of 5-Tool Classic Tournament!


The offensive onslaught by Stark County was led by Tony Wood, Nate Johnson, Nick Walter, Ryan Grega, and Beau Battershell, who all drove in runs.


The Terriers opened up scoring in the first inning, when they scored one run on a stolen base. They pulled away for good with one run in the second inning.


The Terriers notched eight runs in the fourth inning. Wood, Johnson, Walter, Grega, and Battershell each had RBIs in the big inning.


Blayne Maurer was on the hill for Stark County. He surrendered one run on one hit over four innings, striking out five and walking one.


Wagar led things off on the hill for the Hurricanes. He allowed zero hits and one run over one inning, striking out one. Halvorson and Yakovic entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.


Battershell led the Terriers with two hits in two at bats. Chase Duplain led with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 11 stolen bases.


Lusouk went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead the

Hurricanes in hits.
