The Terriers 14U defeated the Cincinnati Riverbats 8-7 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. Stark County was down 4-3 in the top of the fourth inning when Beau Battershell homered on a 0-2 count, scoring four runs.
Bats blistered as the Terriers collected nine hits and the Riverbats tallied eight in the high-scoring game.
The Terriers got things started in the first inning. Christopher Maurer grounded out into a double play, scoring one run.
Blayne Maurer was on the pitcher's mound for Stark County. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out two.
Trevis was on the mound for the Cincinnati Riverbats. He surrendered one run on three hits over three innings, striking out one and walking zero. #32 and #5 entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.
The Terriers tallied one home run on the day. Battershell had a long ball in the fourth inning. Stark County tallied nine hits. Grant Young and Zack Stokoe all had multiple hits. Stokoe and Young each collected two hits to lead the Terriers.
#17 led the Cincinnati Riverbats with two hits in three at bats.
