14U Struggles To Find Groove Against Premier Ohio

Saturday was a long day for the 14U Terriers, falling to Premier Ohio Yudess 9-3.


The Terriers captured the lead in the first inning. Zack Stokoe grounded out, scoring one run.


Premier Ohio evened things up at two in the top of the second inning. #27 drew a walk, scoring one run.


After Premier Ohio scored one run in the top of the fifth, the Terriers answered with one of their own. Premier Ohio scored when #15 singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Stark County then answered when Chase Duplain doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.


Premier Ohio took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third #4 grounded out, scoring one run.


#23 led things off on the mound for Premier Ohio. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and three runs.


Jackson Lurie toed the rubber for the Terriers. He allowed four hits and five runs over three innings, striking out three. Kaleb Corrin threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.


Grant Young, Blayne Maurer, Duplain, Christopher Maurer, Stokoe, Ryan Grega, and Corrin each managed one hit to lead Stark County.


Premier Ohio racked up 12 hits. #12, #6, #9, #34, and #30 all had multiple hits for Premier Ohio. They didn't commit a single error in the field. #34 had two chances in the field, the most on the team.
