The Stark County Terriers 14U had trouble keeping up with Gem City Throwbacks in an 18-1 loss on Saturday.
Gem City Throwbacks scored nine runs in the third inning. Gem City Throwbacks batters contributing to the big inning included #32, #3, #44, #19, #30, and #11, who all drove in runs.
#9 led things off on the hill for Gem City Throwbacks. He surrendered one run on three hits over two innings, striking out two and walking zero.
Blayne Maurer led things off on the mound for the Terriers. He lasted one inning, allowing three hits and seven runs. Tony Wood and Nate Johnson entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Chase Duplain, Zack Stokoe, and Johnson each collected one hit to lead Stark County.
