Competitive Game Ends In Walkoff in the 8th as College Terriers Fall To the Mountaineer Lumber Company

Stark County Terriers 18O fell to Mountaineer Lumber Company 18O 5-4 on Sunday at Revere High School on the final play of the game. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the eighth when CJ Hussey singled, scoring one run.


Stark County Terriers 18O opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Stark County Terriers 18O first got on the board when Josh Dezenzo singled, scoring two runs.


In the bottom of the third inning, Mountaineer Lumber Company 18O went back into the lead after Clark doubled down the left field line, and Hussey doubled to center field, each scoring one run.


Kaiden Mastri lined out, which helped Stark County Terriers 18O tie the game at four in the top of the fourth.


Garret Odey pitched four innings in relief for Stark County Terriers 18O. The hurler surrendered seven hits and three runs while, striking out six and walking none. Nolan Kellicker took the loss for Stark County Terriers 18O. The left-handed pitcher went two and one-third innings, surrendering one run on two hits, striking out four and walking none. Drew Becker started the game for Stark County Terriers 18O. The starter surrendered zero hits and one run over one inning, striking out one and walking three. Stobbs led things off on the hill for Mountaineer Lumber Company 18O. The hurler allowed six hits and four runs (three earned) over eight innings, striking out 11 and walking seven.


Dezenzo drove the middle of the lineup, leading Stark County Terriers 18O with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Luke Senften led Stark County Terriers 18O with two hits in four at bats. Daniel Krabill led Stark County Terriers 18O with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game.


Mountaineer Lumber Company 18O accumulated nine hits in the game. Luke Ickes, Clark, and Hussey each collected two hits for Mountaineer Lumber Company 18O. Hussey went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Mountaineer Lumber Company 18O turned one double play in the game.
