Late Score Costs 14U Against Wadsworth Grizzlies.

Sunday's game against Wadsworth Grizzlies was a heartbreaker forthe Stark County Terriers 14U, as they lost the lead late in a 7-5 defeat. The game was tied at two with the Grizzlies batting in the top of the fifth when an error scored one run.


The Terriers lost despite out-hitting Wadsworth ten to eight.


The Grizzlies fired up the offense in the first inning, when Alex N singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.


The Terriers knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the third inning. They scored two runs when Ryan Grega singled.


Jason toed the rubber for Wadsworth. He lasted five innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out 11.


Grant Young was on the mound for Stark County. He lasted four innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out three. Grega and Beau Battershell entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.


Stark County scattered ten hits in the game. Young and Grega each managed three hits to lead the team.


The Grizzlies had eight hits in the game. N and Alex L each managed multiple hits for Wadsworth.
