The Terriers 14U watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 5-1 loss to the Mid Ohio Bullets on Saturday. Mid Ohio scored on a groundout by Carpenter in the first inning, a single by Hollar in the first inning, a single by Minturn in the second inning, a sacrifice fly by Minnick in the second inning, and a groundout by Hollar in the second inning.
The Mid Ohio Bullets got on the board in the first inning when Carpenter grounded out, scoring one run.
The Bullets scored three runs in the second inning. The big bats were led by Minturn, Minnick, and Hollar, who all drove in runs.
Minnick got the start for Mid Ohio. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over six innings, striking out five.
Jackson Lurie led things off on the hill for the Terriers. He lasted two innings, allowing four hits and five runs. Chase Duplain threw four innings in relief.
Ryan Grega, Zack Stokoe, and Duplain all had one hit to lead the Terriers.
Minnick led Mid Ohio with two hits in three at bats.
