Despite seeing its nine-run lead whittled down by the end, The Stark County Terriers 15U still held off Impact Longhorns Black for a 10-8 victory on Tuesday. The Impact Longhorns Black scored seven runs in the failed comeback. Piazza, Woodmanry, Gaudio, Myers, and Frimel powered the rally with RBIs.
The Impact Longhorns Black scored five runs in the sixth inning, but the Terriers still managed to pull out the victory. Piazza, Woodmanry, Gaudio, and Myers each drove in runs during the inning.
In the first inning, Stark County got their offense started. Ty Sowers doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Kaiden Mastri led things off on the pitcher's mound for the Terriers. He went five innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out four.
Mallory was on the mound for Impact Longhorns Black. He surrendered seven runs on ten hits over four innings, striking out three. Paula and Frimel entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.
TThe Terriers scattered 19 hits in the game. Mastri, Curt Taylor, Caden Goodwin, Landon Waller, Dylan Patterson, Alec Marran, and Hartsoe all managed multiple hits. Mastri went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Stark County in hits.
Pelts led the Longhorns Black with two hits in three at bats.
