The Stark County Terriers 11U stayed in it until the end, but the Norton Panthers pulled away late in a 22-6 victory on Thursday. The game was tied at six with Norton batting in the bottom of the third when #99 singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
The Terriers collected four hits and Norton Panthers had 13 in the high-scoring affair.
Stark County opened up scoring in the first inning. Gabe A drew a walk, scoring one run.
The Norton Panthers scored ten runs in the fourth inning. #8, #2, #12, #15, #20, and #22 powered the big inning with RBIs.
#22 was on the mound for the Panthers. The fireballer went two and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out three.
Thomas W toed the rubber for the Terriers. The righthander allowed four hits and five runs over two innings, striking out one. Jackson H and Kalvin F entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.
Teddy S, Decatur M, Grant S, and Gabe each collected one hit to lead the Terriers. Stark County tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Gabe led the way with two.
