The Stark County Terriers defeated the T3 Warhawks 2-0 on Sunday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Kyle Aten struck out John Panstares to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Stark County pitchers struck out six, while Warhawks pitchers sat down eight.
The Terriers got on the board in the first inning when Carson Nicodemo singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
One bright spot for the Warhawks was a single by Eric Colaco in the first inning.
Yassir Kahook took the win for Stark County. The righthander went four innings, allowing no runs on two hits, striking out four and walking none. Aten threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Aten recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for the Terriers.
Manny Nager was on the pitcher's mound for T3. The hurler lasted five innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out six. William Rouse threw two innings in relief.
Jack Mathey led the Terriers with two hits in three at bats.
The Warhawks tallied eight hits. Colaco and Aidan Grabowski all collected multiple hits. T3 didn't commit a single error in the field. Alexander Vaughan had the most chances in the field with eight.
