Kyle Aten threw a gem on Friday for the Stark County Terriers, allowing no runs and besting the Toledo Hawks by a score of 5-0.
The Terriers opened up scoring in the first inning, when Lane Marshall grounded out, scoring one run.
Stark County tallied four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a single by Jack Mathey and a double by Davis Burick.
A single by Coeffler in the second inning was a positive for the Hawks.
Aten was the winning pitcher for the Terriers. The righthander went seven innings, allowing eight hits and zero runs while striking out one and walking one.
Nowakowski took the loss for Toledo. The hurler went six innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out seven.
Ben Lefebvre, Mathey, Burick, Breydan Cavey, Andrew Micole, and Shea Simmer each collected one hit to lead Stark County. The Terriers didn't commit a single error in the field. Simmer had the most chances in the field with nine.
Langess went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Hawks in hits. Toledo was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Coeffler had the most chances in the field with seven.
